I recommend going to Passport Health if you are traveling to a developing country, or if you are traveling outside of the US for the first time. Bobby and R.N. Desiree are extremely professional, knowledgeable, and thorough. As a former Peace Corps volunteer and now frequent participant in volunteer vacations overseas, I am familiar with most immunizations needed. I had to get all of my information on each country researching the web. Desiree gave me everything that I needed in a one hour visit. She provided a very comprehensive booklet on all of the countries I will be visiting this trip. And the office had for sale, at a reasonable price, all of the travel gadgets it had taken me years to find and accumulate. They do not file your health insurance, but they give you everything you need to file yourself. I only wish I had discovered this office sooner. Be sure to give them your travel details in advance, and do fill out the health form online, so that they will have all the info you need when you arrive.
They even made sure (as far as non-medical travel matters go) I knew to contact the international U.S. Embassies to register my trip, and made sure I knew about registering for any applicable Visas. Informational links galore! In my case, they even called me by phone to advise me, and it turned out that the particular airport I was flying to could handle registering a Tourist Visa themselves, so I wouldn't have to spend time getting my passport updated with the DoS.
The only location I could find for a yellow shot before a trip to Africa. I was so relieved and then found the customer service way above average. Will definitely recommend to other traveling friends in Baton Rouge.
On time, very efficient, knowledgeable. I travelled out of state to Passport Health to get immunizations that were not locally available for international work. And you can eat great food while you are in New Orleans. Highly recommended.

I live in Pensacola, and I had to get my immunizations at the health department. For my next trip, I must have a yellow fever inoculation. Fortunately for me, I could not get this inoculation in Pensacola. That is how I discovered Passport Health. They are the nearest location for the yellow fever shot. Fate brought me to Passport Health, and I am so happy to be able to use their services for my future Habitat for Humanity Global Village Builds.
The vaccinations and anti-malarials they gave me were reasonably priced, and the entire office visit - with a full rundown of need-to-know information - lasted all of 30 minutes. Pretty painless, as far as clinical visits go.
