A horrible company, I gave them my college grades to get my good student discount, and I didn't get it for almost 2 months because they never changed my occupation from retail to student, very lazy and incompetent.

I have had Allstate insurance with this agency since 2009. I was informed by my mortgage company on March 31, 2012 that my homeowners policy was expired, not my flood policy, which they also handle (so I thought...). I immediately called Treadway and asked what was going on because my mortgage company informed me that I did not have insurance. After reviewing the information, I was told by Treadway that the information was sent to Louisiana Citizens and they "uploaded the information but did not process it". So the payment notice did not go to the proper mortgage company for payment. I asked what could we do to correct the problem. So after talking back and forth for a few days, I was told that they (the underwriters) would not back date the insurance and that my policy would have to be rewritten. I put everything on hold to check around for pricing since I had to start over, and I would call back. After checking other companies I was quoted outrageous prices for coverage due to the lapse. I then called Treadway back and told them that because of the lapse I could not get a competitive rate and that I will come in and reinstate with them out of total necessity. TODAY I WENT INTO TREADWAY INSURANCE AT 5500 VETERANS BLVD., METAIRIE, LOUISIANA. I was informed that for me to get the best rate, I had to change my auto to Allstate, O.K. no problem I gave them the check for the auto. I agreed to transfer my auto policy over to Allstate at a higher rate to receive the discounted rate on my homeowners policy and paid the down payment for the Auto. After completing the Auto side of the policy, we began to do the homeowners. I was asked for a deposit for the homeowners once the paperwork was completed. I informed the agent that my insurance was escrowed. She then cited a new Allstate Insurance rule that said I would still need to make a deposit even though the insurance was paid through escrow. I told the agent "Rei" that I was not prepared to pay out of pocket and since I had a few more days, I wanted to cancel everything (the auto policy) and I will see how I needed to handle this. I ASKED FOR MY CHECK BACK AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY COULD NOT GIVE IT BACK...WHAT! I ASKED WHY NOT. I WAS TOLD THAT IT HAD BEEN PROCESSED. I though to myself, PROCESSED, I HAD NOT LEFT THE OFFICE. I SAID WELL LET ME WRITE VOID ON THE CHECK AND YOU CAN COMPLETE THE CANCELATION IN THE MORNING. THEY STILL REFUSED TO GIVE ME MY CHECK BACK. I HAD TO STOP PAYMENT. ALL OF THIS OVER A MISTAKE THEY MADE... THE GUY "DAVID" WAS VERY RUDE TO ME. HE BECOME VERY BELLIGERENT AND INDIGNANT. IT WAS AN EXTREMELY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I HOPE THAT THIS SITUATION IS THE EXCEPTION AND NOT THE RULE WHEN DOING BUSINESS WITH THIS AGENCY... I AM FILING MY COMPLAINT WITH THE INSURANCE COMMISSIONERS’ OFFICE IN THE A M. DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY AT YOUR OWN RISK...YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
