I never have had a lot of love for Dick's, but after trying to find shoes at Academy I have a new found appreciation!

Dick's is a great sporting goods store. I was shocked when I went there looking for lacrosse equipment for my grandson. I was not sure the would have anything, but they had a big selection from inexpensive child sticks to $200 serious stuff. They also have a full range of baseball gloves and bat sizes because, of course, young players need the next size every year!
Another over-priced place; but if you are looking for the best, wide variety of running and tennis shoes, this is the best pace in the Metairie area. (although, expensive). Not a good place to buy exercise clothing, unless it's a special gift for someone (once again, very expensive). Impressed with the good variety of kayaks, better than Academy. Greaaat changing rooms! Large, spacious, private, single, large mirrors, large bench, no claustrophobia in there! Wide variety of sun-boating-beach hats, in case you are looking for a gift. Good variety of socks- top of the line. Employees are kind and respectful, and they give you your space, they are not pressureful. The worst: They run out of shoes quickly, yet continue to display them as though they still have them in stock. Very spacious shoe department.
