Completely sub par! We had a large party 15+ and only one server, Wendy. She was not prepared to handle such a crowd and it showed. Her time management skills were poor, and she had issues moving between the two tables. I will say though she should not have had to wait such a large crowd alone.
Came here with my mom after I arrived at the airport, flying from Los Angeles. I absolutely had to get some Cajun food in my stomach after suffering from a vegan Thanksgiving this year in LA. My mom recommended Deanie's when she called me, and I thought she said "Denny's". Thank God for the mistake because I enjoyed this a whole lot more. Our server Quinn was super nice and frequently checked in to make sure everything was good. My mom got the 1/2 platter lunch special and I got the Crawfish duo. The food was delicious, like most Louisiana restaurants that remain in business.
There complaints out of our group and on one of them, the manager was very rude. A guest complained of not liking the barbeque shrimp pasta to which he responded: "that's how it's supposed to be made". No offer of a substitute or any other type of compromise. It was a first time experience for most of us and I can assure there will be no repeat. Truly disappointed.
I went there on a dinner date, and the food was great... the service was even better. Our waitress could not have been more pleasing. 5 stars. A few weeks later I went back and dined alone. The food once again was delicious but my waiter was terrible. I assume he felt that since I was solo and the bill would be less than a 2 top or more he wasn't going to be tipped well. If alone, I always tip 30% to 40%, depending on the service, having been in the service industry for years. They were not very busy, but, I waited over 10 minutes to order, and saw tables that were seated after me, be served before my food arrived. Then, my table was not cleared until after I received my check... Another 10 minutes. I didn't complain, just left a $2.00 tip instead of $15.00...1star... 3 star average. Since the food was so good, I will dine there again, hopefully with a more pleasant, server experience.
Nasty over price food, awful service, gumbo was cold and when I asked for to switch it out .I was told that I would've to pay for a 2nd bowl. The waitress never brought my drink so I continue to drink water. Also the seafood platter was soggy .But I must say I have visited the one in the French Quarters multiple times and never had a complaint.
Deanies has some of the best seafood in the country. Always cooked perfectly. Always fresh. The environment to friendly, clean spacious. The staff is great. I love this place.
