Anyone searching for a church to call home, I highly reccomend Metairie Baptist. 4 years ago I was Catholic and spirituality empty. I wanted a change but I didn't know what to do or where to go. I came home one day and had a invitation on my door to attend services at Metairie Baptist. I definitely took it as God's plan for me to go check it out. I didn't have a car at the time so I decided to take a chance and called the church office. I explained to the church Secretary that I wanted to attend but I didn't have transportation to get there. She took my phone number and within 5 minutes I received a call from one of the bible study teachers. We spoke for a while and she picked me up on the next Sunday and every Sunday after that for over 2 1/2 years. When I walked in the door I couldn't believe how welcomed I felt. Everybody in the church came up to me and introduced themselves and hugged me (the men shook my hand ). I was very surprised on the next Sunday everyone remembered my name. I have tried different churches and denominations over the years and none of them even came close to how I felt when I walked in Metairie Baptist. When I'm in a new place with a lot of people I don't know I get very anxious and nervous thinking everyone is judging me. Within 3 minutes of being there all of those feelings disappeared. All I felt was love coming from everyone. I knew at that moment that I was home. I quickly joined the adult women's bible study group and decided to get baptized and become a member. I will never forget the day I was baptized, it was as if my eyes opened for the first time in my life. I have never felt that way before. I have learned more about the bible and our Savior Jesus Christ in the past 4 years than I have my whole life and I have attended church most of my life. I didn't know what fellowship and service work was before Metairie Baptist. I can't say enough wonderful things about our pastor Dr. Strong, he is a true man of God. It's as if God is speaking through him directly to you. I have never heard sermons like his before. His sermons are life changing. As the great gospel song says "I was lost but now I'm found, was blind but now I see ". If you want to attend a great church with spirituality full Christians, come join us on Sunday. I could guarantee that you will love it and will want to come back.
