Great neighborhood hardware store. Shelves crammed with everything the home handy man could need for projects or repairs short of major construction. Plumbing, electric supplies, paint, tools, garden supplies, all without driving miles to big box stores where you have to wander around miles of shelves with no one to help. At Harry's knowledgeable sales staff always available to help find whatever you need. Two doors off Metairie Road with great parking.
The best hardware store in Metairie, with longer Sunday hours than others. A quick alternative to the maze that is Home Depot. Go here if you need only one or two items, and want to get in and out fast. Housewares and kitchenwares are good, but not as extensive a collection as Harry's Ace Hardware on Magazine Street, NOLA 70115, which is the best hardware store in the city, bar none. Grade: B+ marked down because this Ace is surpassed by Harry's on Magazine Street; however, for Sunday hours, convenient shopping, and location, this location would have merited an A.

Harry's on Metairie Road treats customers like thieves. If you go to Harry's to have a diplicate key made, they don't trust you to take the $2.79 key to the cashier to pay for it. In stead, they lock your spare key in a metal box and instruct you to take the locked box to the cash register. Only after you have paid for your key will they unlock the box and give you the item you purchased. I don't know where Harry attended business school, but this is no way to attract customets. Harry has seen the last of me.
